Aponte was named Most Outstanding Wrestler in the recent Boneyard Bash at Jack Britt High School. He won the 120-pound weight class with a technical fall over Jayvion Johnson of Pine Forest High School at 3:32. The win improved Aponte’s record to 35-0 for the season.

Aekins led South View High School to victory over Cape Fear Christian Academy in the MLK Dream Jam by a score of 58-21. Aekins had 24 points, six rebounds, three assists, a steal and a block. The Tigers are currently 8-3 overall and 3-0 in the United 8 Conference.
