Homicide detectives have made an arrest in the fatal shooting of a Fayetteville teen late Friday afternoon near Cattail Circle, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office said.
Sincere Devone Freshley, 21, of Fayetteville is charged with voluntary manslaughter in the death of 19-year-old Darion Leshawn Crenshaw, the Sheriff’s Office said in a release.
Freshley is being held on a $500,000 secure bond at the Cumberland County Detention Center. His first appearance is set for 2:30 p.m. Monday at the detention center, the release said.
Just after 5 p.m. Friday, deputies responded to the 2300 block of Cattail Circle in reference to a reported shooting.
Deputies found Crenshaw suffering from a gunshot wound, the Sheriff’s Office said in the release. He was taken to an area hospital, where he died, the release said.
