Fayetteville Orthopaedics, which for nearly 50 years has provided orthopedic care in the Fayetteville area, is now part of Cape Fear Valley Health, which has continued to expand its orthopedic services.

The staff at Fayetteville Orthopaedics will continue to provide orthopedic services, joint replacement surgeries and treatment for sports-related injuries.

The staff includes Drs. W. Dickson Schaefer, Christopher J. Barnes, Daniel E. McBrayer, and Deren Bagsby and physician’s assistants Michael Dilello and Jeb Cleveland.

Jobs fair seeks to fill positions in Spring Lake town government

NC Works Career Center Fayetteville will host a jobs fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 31 at Spring Lake Town Hall, 300 Ruth St. The jobs fair is aimed at addressing the longstanding workforce vacancies in the town, with a focus on six key positions.

To meet the demands of exceptional growth and an expanding population in the Spring Lake community, the job fair will provide an opportunity for qualified individuals to explore career options and connect with potential employers, a news release said.

The following positions are the primary focus:

  • Finance director: Managing the town’s financial operations and providing strategic guidance on fiscal matters.
  • Police officer.
  •  
  • Accounts payable technician: Helping manage town finances by processing invoices and payments.
  • Full-time and part-time meter reader: Records utility consumption and accurate meter readings.

Job seekers who are interested in any of these positions are encouraged to send their resumes to Dwight Butler at dwight.butler@commerce.nc.gov. Resumes received in advance will be shared with participating employers, giving them an opportunity to review candidates.

The NC Works Career Center Fayetteville team will be on site to offer guidance, answer questions, and provide assistance with the application process. Participants should be prepared with multiple copies of their resumes and dress in professional attire, a news release said.

Sheriff’s Office offers $2,500 signing bonus for detention, sheriff’s jobs

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office will host a jobs fair on July 19 with same-day interviews for positions including detention officer, detention officer cadet, deputy sheriff and deputy sheriff cadet.

The job fair will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 19 at the NC Works office at 490 N. McPherson Church Road, according to a news release.

The county is offering a $2,500 signing bonus for newly hired deputies and detention officers upon academy graduation.

The primary goal is to connect job seekers with career opportunities in the Sheriff’s Office. Eligible applicants who are unable to attend but are interested in working with the Sheriff’s Office can go to ccsonc.org/join-the-ccso/ for more information.

Pinehurst Medical Clinic earns recognition of American Diabetes Association

PINEHURST — The American Diabetes Association has recognized Pinehurst Medical Clinic for its work on diabetes education and support.

The ADA’s Education Recognition Certificate assures that educational services meet national standards for diabetes care.
