Cape Fear Valley Health and Harnett Health broke ground on a cancer center and medical office building at Central Harnett Hospital in Lillington on Monday, according to at health system news release.
Expected to be completed in late 2024, the three-floor, 66,000-square-foot facility will house multiple medical specialities, including orthopedics; ear, nose and throat; neurology; cardiology; and rheumatology, the release said.
The cancer center will include radiation and medical oncology and expand the number of infusion chairs available at Central Harnett Hospital. Currently, radiation oncology is not available in Harnett County, the release said.
Clinics open
Also Monday, Cape Fear Valley Health opened two clinics in Dunn. Harnett Health Orthopedics & Sports Medicine-Dunn is at 700 Tilghman Drive. Harnett Health Neurology is at 803 Tilghman Drive, Suite 500.
Anthony Parker and Benjamin Petty are the new physicians at Harnett Health Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, a news release said.
Zari Cain-Akbar is the new physician at Harnett Health Neurology.
