Carlota Cleron, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2024, at Cape Fear Valley Hospital in North Carolina, at the age of 80.

Born on September 7, 1943, in Panama, Republic of Panama, Carlota brought joy and laughter into the world from the very beginning. She was the daughter of Norman P. Williams and Thelma Genarina Cleron de Grimes, both of whom preceded her in death. Carlota was also preceded in death by her children, George Thomas Jr. and Tempie Thomas.

Carlota leaves behind a legacy of love and strength. She is survived by her devoted siblings; Ricardo Williams, Angela Cleron, Arnulfo "Butch" Williams, Nadia Williams, Aralis Williams, and Igor Williams, as well as her loving daughter-in-law; Susan Thomas. Carlota's memory will forever be cherished by her three granddaughters; Ebony Thomas and her partner Garron Thomas, Annaleise Camacho and her husband Javier Camacho, and Reyna Thomas, as well as her great-grandson; Benjamin Camacho. She is also survived by her nephews; Ricardo Williams Jr., Ricardo Williams, and Paul-Angelo Nottingham, along with numerous other relatives and friends.

Carlota was known for her zest for life and her infectious laughter. She had a passion for music and dance, serving as a Zumba instructor and infusing energy into every class. Her vivacious personality earned her the reputation of being feisty and sassy, yet deeply caring and nurturing to those she loved. Even in her final stages of memory care, Carlota remained compassionate, often assisting other residents and nurses with genuine kindness.

A proud member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority, Carlota embraced life with servitude and grace. She absolutely loved style and shopping and was always anxious to stroll around the mall and create new outfits. In her younger years, she practiced Judo and was fearless in her ability to stand up against anyone. If she didn't like you, there was no redemption. If she liked you, she loved you and would go to any length for you. Her nurturing side continued even in her final stages of dementia. After immigrating to the United States, Carlota completed her high school education and pursued a successful career as a retail manager until her retirement. She was also known for her culinary skills, delighting family and friends with her delicious and spicy dishes.

In addition to her many accomplishments, Carlota found joy in traveling with her family, creating lasting memories along the way. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Services will be held privately by the family.

Services entrusted to Adcock Funeral Home and Crematory, Spring Lake, NC.

(A limb has fallen from the family tree. That says, "Grieve not for me. Remember the best times, the laughter, the song, the good life I lived while I was strong.")
