Council to consider charter school permit at Monday meeting

The Fayetteville City Council will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at City Hall, 433 Hay St. Here's a look at what’s on the agenda:

  • Evidentiary hearing: The council will hold a hearing to determine if a special use permit should be granted to Bethel Christian Assembly Inc., which is applying to build a charter school in a vacant lot in a single-family residential neighborhood. The property is located at 4502 Rosehill Rd. 

Administrative reports on a regular meeting agendas are for council review and gathering of information only.  If the council desires,  the reports will be moved forward to be placed on the next work session agenda for further review and discussion. Council will recieve administrative reports on these issues Monday: 

  • Airport strategic marketing plan: The council may discuss an administrative report on the Fayetteville Regional Airport’s advertising plan for 2024. The plan is designed to increase flight traffic to the airport and encourage greater use by major airlines. 
  • Gun safety report: The council will may discuss an administrative report on city staff’s review of gun safety strategies related to city ordinances and community-based solutions. 

The council meeting will be aired on Spectrum Cable Channel 7 and live-streamed at faytv.net.
