Longtime country favorite Alabama will play the Crown Coliseum on Sunday night, and tickets are still available.
The band will perform at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Crown, 1960 Coliseum Drive. Tickets range from $39.50 to $129.50 and are available through the Crown Complex website.
The group was scheduled to perform here on June 4 as part of the Community Concerts series, but that show was canceled. Tickets purchased for the June 4 show are valid for Sunday, according to the Crown website.
The Crown Complex will be enforcing its clear bag policy, meaning concertgoers cannot carry bags inside unless the contents can be seen.
Alabama banded together 50 years ago when Jeff Cook, Teddy Gentry and Randy Owen left the cotton farms of Fort Payne, Alabama, to play music in a Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, bar called The Bowery, according to information on the Crown Coliseum website.
The international stars have sold 80 million albums and introduced rock-style guitars, lights, pyrotechnics and sound to the country audience, the website says. Alabama has 43 No. 1 singles to its credit and has won dozens of CMA, Grammy, and ACM awards. The band was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
The opening act for Sunday’s concert is Exile, a band formed in 1963 in Kentucky. Its most successful hit, “Kiss You All Over,” spend four weeks at the top of the Billboard pop chart in 1978.
