With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Cray O’Fay, affectionately known as Patty, who peacefully departed from us on May 2, 2024, at the age of 77 in Hope Mills. Cray's journey began in Paris, KY, on September 2, 1946, born to the loving late parents Joe O’Fay and Nettie Robb.

Cray's life was a testament to service and dedication. He honorably served in the United States Air Force for 24 years, embodying principles of duty and valor. Post-retirement, Cray channeled his creativity and skills into crafting exquisite custom woodwork and contributing his talents at Sam's Club, leaving behind a legacy of craftsmanship and hard work.

He will forever be cherished by his family and friends for his warmth, humor, and unwavering love. Cray is preceded in death by his beloved parents Joe O’Fay and Nettie Robb, his daughter Richelle Pittman, sister Mary Francis Hopkins, and brothers Mike Fay, William Fay, and James Edwards Fay.

Cray leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience, survived by his devoted wife Jenell O’Fay; daughters Dinah Alvarado (Alexander) of Fayetteville; brothers Tommy Fay (Peggy) of Massachusetts, JC Fay (Becky) of Kentucky, Danny Fay (Martha) of Kentucky; cherished grandchildren Jonah O’Fay, Athena Alvarado, Alexander Alvarado Jr., Nicole Lemke, Paige Lemke, Steven Lemke, as well as numerous other beloved family members and friends.

Cray O’Fay's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him, and his spirit will continue to inspire us to embrace life with love and determination. May his soul find eternal peace, knowing he was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.

The Family will receive friends 1 PM - 2 PM Friday, May 10, 2024 at Cape Fear Baptist, 100 Indian Dr. Fayetteville, NC 28312

Funeral Services will be held 2 PM Friday, May 10, 2024 at Cape Fear Baptist, 100 Indian Dr. Fayetteville, NC 28312

Interment will be at Cape Fear Baptist Cemetery, 6041 Butler Nursery Road
