From the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office
On January 1st, 2024, at 7:48 a.m., Cumberland County Sheriff's Office Deputies responded to a 911 call for a person shot at the intersection of Batcave Drive and John B. Carter Road in Fayetteville.
The preliminary investigation revealed a male had been shot and was transported to a medical center where he was pronounced deceased. The identity of the victim is being withheld pending next of kin notification.
