Fayetteville Area Habitat Week of Service to focus on home repairs for veterans and their families

Posted

A Fayetteville Area Habitat for Humanity event will focus on making critical repairs to the homes of ten veteran families, according to a release. An opening ceremony for the 2023 Veterans Build Week of Service will be held at 9 a.m. Friday at 118 Kirkland Dr.

With the generous support of donors, Fayetteville Area Habitat has raised $15,500 to address the needs of the veteran families, who live on Kirkland Drive and Augusta Drive, the release said.

Fayetteville Area Habitat aims to highlight the challenges faced by many veterans in acquiring and maintaining stable shelter for themselves and their families, the release said. The Veterans Build Week serves as a call to action for volunteers, veterans service organizations and benefactors alike, the release said.

The event is a vital part of the organization's ongoing commitment to community service and brings together community volunteers, donors, and local businesses to support veterans through the home repairs program and new home construction projects, the release said.
