The Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating after two people were found dead of apparent gunshot wounds Thursday morning in a home on Berkshire Road.
Officers were dispatched to the home on the 1500 block of Berkshire Road just after 8:30 a.m. in reference to a well-being check, the Police Department said in a release. Berkshire Road is near Owen Drive and the Glendale Acres subdivision.
Officers located two people inside the residence with apparent gunshot wounds. Both were pronounced dead on the scene, the release said. Their identities have not been released.
“There is no threat to the public as this does not appear to be a random act,’’ police said in the release. “It is believed that the occupants of the home were the only persons inside when the shooting occurred.’’
