Fayetteville police investigating New Year's Day shooting death

Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit are investigating a shooting that occurred New Year's Day in the 1800 block of Harris Street. 

At  approximately 5:16 p.m. Monday, officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to 1800 block of Harris Street for a ShotSpotter notification. Upon arriving on scene, officers were told one male had been shot. Officers located the male in a backyard. He was pronounced deceased on scene. 

The male has been identified as David Earl Page Jr. (black male, 36 years old). His family has been notified. 

The Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit has assumed the investigation. This is an active investigation. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
