Fayetteville seeks to fill vacancies on public boards and commissions

Animal control board, planning commission, PWC have seats to fill

The city of Fayetteville is encouraging residents to apply for upcoming vacancies on several boards and commissions with a wide variety of oversight.

The vacancies include:

  • Animal Control Board, one vacancy.
  • Board of Appeals, three vacancies.
  • Fair Housing Board, one vacancy.
  • Fayetteville Advisory Committee on Transit (FACT), two vacancies.
  • Planning Commission, four vacancies.
  • Zoning Commission, three vacancies.
  • Fayetteville-Cumberland Economic Development Board, one vacancy.
  • Human Relations Commission, five vacancies.
  • Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks & Recreation Advisory Commission, two vacancies.
  • Fayetteville Public Works Commission, one vacancy.
  • Fayetteville Redevelopment Commission. two vacancies.
  • Historic Resources Commission, one vacancy.
  • Joint City and County Appearance Commission, one vacancy.
  • Linear Park Inc., one vacancy.
  • Millennial Advisory Commission, three vacancies.
  • Wrecker Review Board, one vacancy.

Applications will be accepted through July 31 and reviewed by the city appointments committee in August. The City Council will approve appointments in September.

The city will accept applications on its website, fayettevillenc.gov. Go to “City Counci,l, choose “Boards and Commissions,” and click on “Vacancies.”
