Posted

The city of Fayetteville and the Fayetteville Veterans Affairs Medical Center will host a community Stand Down event on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Festival Park.

The event is a free, one-stop resource for veterans experiencing homelessness or those who are at risk of homelessness, officials said in a release.

Those who attend will have access to health screenings, employment assistance and housing assistance at no cost. A free lunch also will be provided.

Military veterans should bring their VA card or DD214.

The Fayetteville Area System of Transit has three bus routes that serve Festival Park: routes 4, 5 and 12. FAST rides are currently fare free.
