Great chemistry key to wins, Cumberland County girls' soccer teams say

Here’s a capsule look at Cumblerland County girls’ soccer.
 
Jack Britt
Coach: Raphael Pelletant
Top returners: Kaylen Sprague, Jr.; Tiona Meacham, Sr.; Isabella Hernandez, So.
Promising newcomers: Jessica Karis, Fr.; Dawn Kenworthy, So.; Zoeth Guzman, So.
Coach’s comment: “We are a young team with a wide range of skill. Half of our team are new players but I am certain that they will be really successful this year. It is a hard-working group. Finding the chemistry is our number one objective as a team. Once achieved everything will fall into place to have a great season and be a contender to win the conference.’’
 
Pine Forest
Coach: Isaac Rancour
Top returners: Ariana Pizarro Gonzalez, Leilani Manolias.
Promising newcomers: None listed.
Coach’s comment: “Pine Forest women’s soccer has a competitive team with great chemistry. We are all set for an exciting year and a lot of great games.’’

Promising newcomers: Annie Lieberman.
Coach’s comment: “We look forward to constructing a new team with new and returning talent this year. We have a great group of players who love the sport and have great team chemistry.’’
 
Village Christian

Coach’s comment: “I am very excited about the upcoming season. We return 10 of the 11 starters from last year’s team that went undefeated in conference and made it to the third round of the state playoffs. With the returning experience and leadership on this team I think we can go even further.’’

Coach’s comment: “We are a mix of experience and youth. The group is so much fun to work with and we look forward to an enjoyable season.’’

Coach’s comment: “Excitement builds within the team and among supporters as the new season approaches. With their eyes set on victory and unwavering determination, South View girls soccer is ready to shine bright and make their mark on the field.’’
 
Cape Fear

Top returners: Jayda Angel, Brooke Bombatepe, Meredith Wenthur, Hannah McGill, Kayia Starling, Grace Sherbert, Andi Brinker, Caroline Hales.
Promising newcomers: Lizzy Kirkland.
Coach’s comment: “We’re bringing back a lot of experience mixed in with some new players. Our team has the pieces to compete for the United 8 Conference championship and make a deep run in the playoffs. If the girls can find a balance in their skill and leadership development we will find much success this season.’’
