James L. White, Jr., 63, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2024, at home after a long illness. James was born Wiesbaden, Germany on July 9, 1960.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Hazel White and his mother-in-law, Irene Lucas Holder and two sisters-in-law, Pamela Rudisill and Faye Riddle.

James is survived by his wife of 31 years, Belinda Dawn; son, James Dylan; father, James L. White; three sisters, Lynn Wilkens and husband Wayne, Tricia Westmoreland, Janet Roberts and sister-inlaw Hope Holder; brother, Chris White and wife Marie; and brother-in-law Calvin Riddle; nieces, Amy, Dawn, Courtney, Makayla, Audrey, Elizabeth, Susie and husband Willie, Michelle and husband Bert; nephews, Nicholas, Ricky, Jeffrey, Allen, Trey and wife Mary, John Lucas and Taylor; many grandnieces and grand nephews and so many friends. Also to cherish his memory his best friend William White and his wife Cindy.

James made many friends at his jobs over the years, Western Publishing, Sprint, Embarq, CTC, Mundy and his current employer McGill Environmental. He always gave 110 per cent on every job he worked. Wherever he worked, they were always glad to see him come back because he was a lot of fun to be around. He treasured his many coworkers at McGill and his close relationships that he formed and was looking forward to going back to work at some point.

James was an excellent outdoorsman and enjoyed taking young men to harvest their first deer or turkey or catch their first fish. Everyone wanted to go to the woods with him because he was an excellent hunter/marksman and fisherman and if anyone ever asked him where all of his knowledge of the woods and the water came from, he would say that he learned everything from his DAD!! To know him was to love him! James enjoyed hunting and fishing with his Dad, brother, nephews, William and many friends over the years. That was the one thing (hunting and fishing and just being outside) that was SO hard for him to give up through his illness.

The love he had for his wife, son, family, friends and two special cats, Prince and Ms. Wick, was immeasurable. James touched many lives and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date and will be announced.

You may pay your respects at his home at 6118 Goldsboro Road, Wade, NC 28395, or you may make a donation to your favorite charity in his name OR you may just honor him by taking someone hunting, fishing or camping. That would make him extremely happy because the outdoors was his second home.
