Office sought: Cumberland County Commissioners, District 2

Party affiliation: Republican

Lives: Fayetteville

Age: 41

Works: Owner of Quick Fix Paint And Body

What’s your motivation for seeking office? I have lived in the Eastover and Cedar Creek communities since 1995, I am seeing a lot of changes here as well as throughout the county that we are need of changes for the better. We also need conservative people in office so we can lower taxes or at least keep them the same instead of increasing them just like everything else each year.

What uniquely qualifies you to serve? I feel that I would be able to serve the people of the community very well, since I’ve owned and operated a successful small business for over 17 years. I attended Nashville Auto diesel college and graduated from there which taught me quite a bit on how to deal with customers and people which relates to dealing with the community. I’ve been a business owner. I’m more rally available to talk to people with their issues in the community to see what I can come up with to help them. I have dealt with my own issues in politics since I was 29 years old building, my new commercial building.

Fill in the blank: The top three issues in my municipality/district are ____, ____ and ____; and I would promote positive change by _____.

Schools, first responders, public water. I would push for grants for overcrowded and outdated schools for new ones to be built, as well as find a way to put rules in effect that what money is allocated to the school board they have to spend it for what it’s allocated for as well as teachers getting raises not just the school board. I would try to figure out a way to get more equipment to help our fire departments and first responders be able to help the community better out in the rural areas as well as come up with a way to have these builders, putting up all these overcrowded subdivisions in the rural area have to help with that as well as well as them helping with the school system. I would also work on finding a way to get public water throughout the whole county due to most wells been contaminated and most of the smaller counties around us have public water throughout the whole county but yet Cumberland County does not.

What new policies or practices would you bring to your municipality/district that do not already exist? Development of new subdivisions in the county would have minimum lot size, the builders would be charged a fee per new home permit that goes towards the first responders, the school system and the water system in the area they’re building. I would allocate money equally throughout all parks in Cumberland County not just certain ones that seem to be in certain areas. I would not leave it just up to the school board solely for them to choose where the money goes on building new schools when every school is overcrowded and outdated throughout Cumberland County.
