TumbleMath makes numbers fun for kids, with animated books and stories about mathematical concepts. Choose from a variety of topics and titles or browse the library’s main menu to find a book that interests you.
From Manga to fairy tales to animal stories, there’s a book for everyone. TumbleMath offers suggestions that align with Common Core concepts – or, if young users are feeling brave, they can test their skills by taking one of the quizzes.
If numbers aren’t your style, try Science Online. You will have access to thousands of videos on every science topic you can imagine. Watch a documentary on dinosaurs or dive deep into forensic science for a dose of true crime.
If you’re looking for a more hands-on approach, try cool new experiments or browse the list of article subjects, from algebra to X-rays. Science Online features information written in easy to understand, plain English. Each article also has a read-aloud option for easy accessibility.
Finally, if you want to focus on social studies, take a look at the American Mosaic collection of resources. Learn about history and culture with African American Experience, American Indian Experience and Latino American Experience. Each experience offers timelines from pre-Columbian to the current day, along with research help and user resource guide.
Dive into the World Religions section to learn about beliefs all over the world. Start with a basic overview or choose a more curated experience with the site’s Research Lists – compilations of articles on specific topics. Current lists are available until July 31 and include"Dragons in Religion and Mythology," "Representations of the Buddha," "Catholic Cathedrals" and "Islam’s Mystical Sufi" tradition.
