Leander F. Fitzpatrick, 83, passed away on 20 August 2022.
Leander was preceded in death by his brother, Alan Fitzpatrick; and sisters, Lorain Bushey, Elaine Walker, and Elenor Porter. He is survived by his wife, Heidi S. Fitzpatrick; daughters, Christine Tipton, Lori-Ann Carver; and son, Robert Fitzpatrick; five grandchildren, one great grandchild, and his brother, Steven Monahan.
Leander was born March 30, 1939, in Boston, MA. He joined the military at an early age and made the US Army his career. Leander worked for the Department of Civil Services, in Ft. Bragg, NC in the Safety Division and retired in 2022.
Leander was loved by his family and respected by his friends. His memory will continue to live on in our hearts, and we will never forget him.
A Visitation will be held at 12:30 to 1:30 PM on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be held at 2 PM at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to The Diabetes Foundation of your choice in Leander’s name.
