Leon Richard Hope, 94, of Fayetteville, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at his home.
Leon was born July 2, 1927, in Colchester, Vermont to the late Jeannie and Clarence Hope. He is preceded in death by his wife, Llevaine Hope, his brother, Guy Hope and sister, Joy Warren.
He enjoyed woodworking and made beautiful furniture. Leon was a faithful member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. He was a retired Insurance Adjuster and Appraiser with USAA. Leon was a World War II Navy Veteran.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Burial will take place at a later date in Vermont.
He is survived by his daughter, Jean Ann Melvin of Calabash; son, Paul Michael Hope and wife Jill of Calabash; cousin, Toni Morris of Vermont;4 grandchildren, Lisa, John, Charlie , Michael Melvin; 5 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; faithful friends and caregivers, George and Gayle Girdwood and Willie Brown.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church, 2844 Village Dr. Fayetteville, NC 28304.
