Posted

The Cumberland County Public Library is participating in the “31 Days of Love” campaign to benefit animals at the county animal shelter.

All library locations are accepting donations of pet supplies — including pet food, toys and blankets — for animals that are sheltered at Cumberland County Animal Services. Donations may be dropped off at any of the library branches, the library said in a news release.

Cumberland County Animal Services has a donation wish list on its website

Pet adoption programs are also scheduled for several library locations during October. They are:

  • Hope Mills Branch Library: Oct. 8 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Headquarters Library: Oct.15 from 1 to 3 p.m.
  • Cliffdale Regional Library: Oct. 18 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • North Regional Library: Oct. 28 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Pet adoptions take place at the shelter Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 1 to 5 p.m., the release said.

To see the animals available for adoption, go to Adoptable Animals. Information also is available by calling Animal Services at 910-321-6852.

Cumberland County Animal Services is at 4704 Corporation Drive. It accepts donations of pet supplies year-round during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m and Saturdays 1 to 5 p.m., the release said.
