Martin James Hottel

Posted

Martin James Hottel, of Fayetteville, joined his Heavenly Father on May 12, 2022, at the age of 25.

Martin is survived by his precious wife, Christie, his infant son, Robert Jay, his identical twin, Victor, his younger brother, Andrew, his sister, Aurora Bailey, his adopted grandparents, Pam Evans White and Ervin White, and his parents, Jay and Laura Hottel.

Martin loved anything and everything fast, and that’s how he lived his life.  By age 25, he had accomplished many things.  He had graduated from UNC Chapel Hill, written dozens of songs, and spread warmth and cheer to struggling patients in hospital rooms whenever he went.  He was ordained as a minister and brought comfort to those who had lost loved ones all while uniting loving hearts in marriage.  He loved his family, especially his beautiful wife and son.

To know Martin was to be a part of his love, passion, and his exuberant energy. Martin was a precious soul who lived and loved hard.  He accomplished all he could between December 31, 1996, and May 12, 2022.

The family will welcome friends from noon to 1:45pm on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Fayetteville Community Church.  His memorial service will follow at 2pm in the sanctuary, officiated by Pastor Wesley Pritchard.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to his infant son’s Carolina Fund which will be established soon.

Currently, we have two options to support Christie.

 1.     Checks can be written out to Christie Pippin (please do not write Hottel as her last name is still legally Pippin). In the memo line you can write Robert Jay.
