The driver of one of two motorcycles that were weaving between lanes died in a collision with a pickup Sunday afternoon on Raeford Road, according to the Fayetteville Police Department.

The crash was reported about 3:20 p.m. Sunday on Raeford Road near the intersection with Two Bale Lane, according to a news release.

Investigators said a 2019 Dodge Ram pickup driven by Michael Beasley, 60, of Raeford, was stopped at a red light and the drivers of two motorcycles were cutting in and out of traffic.

A 2020 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Luther H. Tyner, 33, of Red Springs, changed lanes and collided with the rear of Beasleyโ€™s pickup.

Daniel Felix, 34, of Fayetteville, driving a 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle, maintained control and ran off the road, the release said.

Tyner was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he died of his injuries.ย 

A passenger on his motorcycle, Shanna Throckmorton, 24, of Dunn, was taken to the hospital and reported in stable condition. ย 

Felix was not hurt, the news release said.
