Raeford Road lanes to close for further drainage repairs

A section of Raeford Road in western Fayetteville that washed out last month during heavy rainfall will require more repairs, according to the N.C. Department of Transportation. The contractor reconstructing the damaged section will close the eastbound lanes at Graham and Seventy-First School roads starting at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Stormy weather opens sinkhole, shutting down traffic on Raeford Road

Emergency repairs are underway after heavy rainfall overnight opened a sinkhole on Raeford Road in western Fayetteville, the state Department of Transportation said Tuesday. On South Reilly, the Fayetteville Police Department reported that downed power lines caused by stormy weather led to a power failure and the road being closed.
