Ms. Elnora Patterson, the daughter of the late, Mrs. Mernither M. Patterson and Mr. John Patterson, Jr., was born on April 8, 1948, in Scotland County, North Carolina. She departed her earthly life on February 20, 2024, at UNC Health Southeastern for her eternal home.
Elnora received her education in the Public Schools of Mecklenburg County. She was a loyal employee of Converse for twenty-nine and a half years. After retiring from Converse she spent her last few working years as a Personal Care Assistant (PCA).
She was preceded in death by two sisters Mrs. Ella Lee Graham Lumberton, NC and Mrs. Ruby Patterson Fayetteville, NC.
Elnora leaves to cherish her memory: a son, Harlon (Julie) Patterson, two daughters, Jacqueline Patterson and Felica (Tyrone) Alford, all of Lumberton, NC; five beautiful grandchildren, Justin Patterson of Portsmouth, VA, Franchon (Julian) Patterson of Sandford, NC, Harlon Jr. of Cary, NC, Jaylon S. Patterson of Lumberton, NC, and JaKayla Morgan of Lumberton, NC; five beautiful bonus grandchildren Tyrell Alford of Tokyo, Japan, Kayla Alford of Fayetteville, NC, Tyrik Alford of Lumberton, NC, Malik Alford of Fairmont, NC, and Jamarrius Alford of Charlotte, NC; seven beautiful great-grandchildren; and her loving siblings as follows: Mrs. Annie Taylor Rowland, NC, Mr. Alphonso Patterson Charlotte, NC, Mr. Thomas Patterson Lumberton, NC, Mrs. Rachel Richardson (Kenneth) Lumberton, NC, Mrs. Ivey McNeill Charlotte, NC, Mrs. Delois Abrahams Sellers, SC, Mrs. Sarah Johnson Tabor City, NC and a host of other siblings, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Elnora leaves behind her two best friends of more than 40 years; Mrs. Mae Addison of Pembroke, NC, and Mrs. Doris Bethea of Raleigh, NC. During her worst days her friends always took time out of their schedules to visit her, and we the family appreciate you two ladies for loving our mother and being a true friend.
Ms. Elnora was not fond of many but loved her bonus daughter, Christy (Pocco) Worley and we would like to extend a special thank you for taking care of your extended family during our time of bereavement. In the words of Ms. Elnora, “Koot sit down somewhere and get some rest before they run you raggedy.” If you were blessed to enjoy one of Elnora’s home-cooked meals you know she knew her way around a kitchen. A jaw full of tobacco, cutting up laughing, and spoiling her grandchildren was something that she lived for, and that's how we will remember you.
