Ouida Treadaway Heilman, 77, went to her eternal home Monday February 19, 2024, she passed at home surrounded by her surviving daughters, and loved ones.
Ouida was preceded in death by her father, Tyler Bennett Treadaway; mother, Ruthie Dean Thrower; brother, James D. Treadaway (Jim); the love of her life, her husband, CSM John Joseph Heilman; son, Robert Douglas Britt; and her daughter, Tonya West Odom.
Ouida is survived by her daughters, Lynisa Vann Marks and husband, David Charles Marks of Fayetteville, NC, Lana Renee Hunt and husband, Wayne Douglas Hunt of Lumberton, NC; grandson, Shannon Brent Simmons of Fayetteville, NC; granddaughter, Brittney Nicole Hunt of Raleigh, NC; grandson, Matthew Davis West of Willow Springs, NC; son in law, James Edwin Odom of Willow Springs, NC; grandson, Brandon Wayne Hunt, of Raleigh, NC; and granddaughter, Gracie Marie Britt of Lumberton, NC.
Ouida was born in Lumberton, NC by the late Tyler Bennett Treadaway and Ruthie Dean Thrower. She was a well-known cosmetologist for 25 years. After meeting the love of her life, John, their days were spent playing golf, taking beach trips, and just being together. She was a loving mother to her children, and grandchildren. She had many wonderful friends that were like family to her - to know her was to love her. She was blessed with an amazing talent for decorating, her favorite holiday was Christmas. She would decorate her house along with many others. Her favorite pass time was shopping and spending time with her family and friends. She touched the hearts of many and will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 5:45 pm at Hay Street United Methodist Church in Fayetteville, NC, on Thursday, February 22, 2024. A Memorial Service will be held at 6 pm.
