Amelia Pranka, Terry Sanford, wrestling
Pranka won the 138-pound championship in the women’s competition of the All American Conference wrestling tournament. In the finals she recorded a pin over Jocelyn Shaffer of Overhills in a time of 2:23. For her efforts this season, Pranka was named the conference Female Wrestler of the Year with a current record of 18-3.
Joshua Adu-Offel, Seventy-First, wrestling
Adu-Offel was a winner on the mat and in the classroom for Seventy-First. In the United 8 Conference tournament, he took the 132-pound championship, scoring a 6-4 decision over Cristian Ramos of Douglas Byrd in the final match. It improved his record to 8-1. Earlier this month, he was honored for his classroom work as he made the A-B honor roll at Seventy-First.
