Michael was born in Conneaut, OH on November 1, 1952, son to the late Leonard and Maryann Bartlett Sikora. He retired from the US Army after 20 years of service and then worked as a contractor for the US Army. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Sharon Sikora.

Michael was a man of many passions. When he wasn't researching Bigfoot, he was keeping busy! He enjoyed hunting, fishing, building, and reading. He was always trying to learn something new. He is such a kind, hardworking, funny, and loving person. If he wasn't cracking jokes, he was telling stories about traveling, playing with his dog Chase, or about his experiences in the military. He had made many friends throughout the years and he was always willing to help anyone. At the end of the day, his priorities were his family and friends, and he always put his wife first.
