Richard Arnold Wearins, 66, passed away suddenly at his home in Holden Beach, NC on February 6, 2024. He lived prior in Hope Mills. He was born in Lumber Bridge, NC to parents, Harvey, and Etta Wearins. He is survived by his wife, Lillian Darlene Wearins, two children, Elizabeth Nicole Hall (sp. Jonathan), and Tyler Matthew Wearins (sp. Christina), grandchildren, Amberlyn and Kinsley Wearins, Wyatt and Maggie Hall and Jackson, Luke, and Jacob Dalverny. Richard wholeheartedly loved his family and always took care of them. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Charles L. Wearins (sp. Deloris), Jennifer Wearins, Myles A. Wearins (Sp. Deborah), and Van Corey Wearins.  Richard was a Marine heart and soul and retired from the NC National Guard. He was also a retired Cumberland County Sheriff Deputy after 31 years. He was well loved and had many friends. He has two living brothers, Roger (sp. Mary), and Micheal (sp. Ava), and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 15 at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home from 6 to 8 pm. His funeral will be at Rogers and Breece on Friday, February 16 at 1 pm. Burial will be held at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at 10 am.
