Se Suk ((Chea)) Burns

Se Suk Burns, also known as Chea (69) passed away at her home surrounded by loved ones after a courageous battle with cancer on June 11, 2022. She is the wife of Thomas Burns of Hope Mills. They shared thirty-eight happy years of marriage. Chea was born in Seoul, South Korea on August 18, 1952. Throughout Chea’s life she had two passions, her family, and her love for cooking for family and friends. Chea was also known as Mimi who was adored and loved by her five grandchildren. She was also known in the local Korean community for her cooking expertise. She worked for many years as a chef at a local Korean restaurant until her retirement. Chea is survived by her husband, Thomas Burns of Hope Mills; Daughters, Rachel Mckinney of Fayetteville, Christian Burns of Pinehurst and Ashlin Burns of Hope Mills. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Zoey Burns, Keagan McKinney, Joseph Burns, Bradley McKinney and Bentley Koonce. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Sasha Burns. Friends will be received at 12:45 to 1:45 pm on June 17, 2022, at Rogers & Breece Funeral Home on 500 Ramsey Street, Fayetteville NC 28301. Funeral service to follow at 2 pm with interment following the service at Fayetteville Memorial Service at 2881 Gillespie Street, Fayetteville NC 28306. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the American Cancer Society.
