The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man who died after a shooting Friday night on Spike Rail Drive.
Jethro Lee McLaurin, 44, of Fayetteville, died and a second man was seriously injured, the Sheriff’s Office said. The Sheriff’s Office did not release any additional information about the second man.
Deputies responded to the shooting just after 6:30 p.m.
McLaurin and the other man were taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. McLaurin was pronounced dead at the hospital, the Sheriff’s Office said in a release.
The Sheriff’s Office has said the shooting was not a random incident.
The Homicide Unit is investigating.
