Subodh Kumar Thakur, 71, passed away on March 28, 2024, at home surrounded by his family and loved ones. Subodh was born in Dayalpur, Bihar, India on August 8, 1952, to the late Shri Swaroop Lal Thakur and Srmt Umda Thakur.
He was preceded by his brother, Dr. Veda Nand Thakur; and sisters, Indubala Kumar and Manibala Rai. Subodh is survived by his wife, Sangeeta; his children, Shefalika, Prashant, and Sneha; brother, Kapil Dev Thakur and sister, Kiran Singh and many other nieces, nephews, and friends.
After completing his BA and MA studies at Bhagalpur University in Bihar, India, Subodh made his way to the United States at the behest of his late parents in 1979. He was a popular student union leader and took great pride in this. Not long after arriving in Durham, NC, Subodh began his career as an entrepreneur with his wife by his side. Moving to Fayetteville, NC in 1989 with his family, Subodh made his home and business here for the next thirty-five years amongst great friends and family. Subodh was the life of many parties and will be greatly missed.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 31, 2024, at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home at 1PM.
