“Well Done Thy Good and Faithful Servant”

(Matthew 25:33)

Sun Im Thompson, affectionately known as Mrs. Chang, was born on August 11, 1958, on Jeju Island off the coast of South Korea. She was the eldest of nine sisters. Her mother precedes her. Growing up in Jeju, she enjoyed scuba diving and mountain climbing with her family. She was a natural in and around the water as her father was a commercial fisherman.

Mrs. Chang would later settle in Fayetteville, NC and take over Chang’s Fish Market in 1996 with her late husband, Charles Thompson, Jr. Together they built a thriving family business, with God as their foundation, along with hard work and dedication, they were successful at leaving their imprint on the City of Fayetteville.

For the past 25 years, she has been an exemplary community servant as she was a helpful hand if you needed it, a listening ear, a giver of knowledge, a mother figure to many that knew her.

She earned her angel wings on November 10, 2022, and is now reunited with her husband, mother, and grandmothers.

Mrs. Thompson is survived by her children, Jennifer McNair, Edward McNair, Sabrina McNair, Tonia Allen (Derek), James Charles Thompson, III; grandchildren, Gena Smith, Jalen Smith, Brielle McNair and a host of close family, friends, and relatives.

A visitation service will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home from 4 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 20, 2022, at 3 PM at Take Me Higher Deliverance Ministries, 315 Valley Forge Way South Cameron, NC. Burial to follow the service at Fayetteville Memorial Cemetery.
