Terry Sanford quarterback, Gray’s Creek volleyball standout are Athletes of the Week

Terry Sanford’s quarterback and a Gray’s Creek volleyball record-breaker are the Athletes of the Week in Cumberland County Schools.

Jaylen Wright, Terry Sanford, football

In Terry Sanford’s 48-23 win over longtime rival E.E. Smith, Wright threw five touchdown passes, completing 10 of 13 attempts for 193 yards.

Kayla Schlautman, Gray’s Creek, volleyball

Schlautman, the libero for the Bears, recently broke the Gray’s Creek school record for digs, with over 1,000 for her career. Last week she recorded 50 digs and handed out 15 assists.
