Wade Kenneth Byrd, 82, of Fayetteville went home to his Lord and Savior on July 14, 2022.
Mr. Byrd was married for 52 years to the love of his life, Olga Willoughby Byrd.
He is also survived by two daughters, Mary Anita Gaffney and husband, Charles: and Lois Katrina Beck and husband, Jason, and one grandson, Charles (C.J.) Gaffney -- all of Fayetteville. Mr. and Mrs. Byrd also have three children who passed in infancy.
Mr. Byrd worked for 40 years, becoming a supervisor at Fasco Industries before retiring as a government contractor on Fort Bragg. Much of his free time was spent in dedication to his Lord. Mr. Byrd was an usher at Northwood Temple Church in Fayetteville and served in many ministries there including the food pantry, missions thrift store, and video production.
Mr. Byrd was preceded in death by parents, Howell and Mary Byrd, of Fayetteville, and brother, Howell E. Byrd of Fayetteville, brother, John Charles Byrd, and sister, Sally Elizabeth Byrd.
A visitation with family will be held on Monday, July 18, at 10 a.m. at Northwood Temple Church, with a celebration of life following at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Cross Creek Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews or Northwood Temple Church.
