The Olive Garden was temporarily closed Wednesday after a fire in the kitchen.
The fire was reported around 6:50 a.m. at the restaurant on North McPherson Church Road.
When firefighters arrived they saw smoke showing from the roof. They found a fire in the kitchen that had extended to the roof, the Fayetteville Fire Department said in a release.
Damage was estimated at $8,000.
A sign on the restaurant doors said, “Due to circumstances beyond our control the Olive Garden of Fayetteville will not be open today.’’
