Brenda L. Faniel-Shepperson

Posted

Brenda was the best daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend you could ever know.

She was born on June 21, 1953 in New York City to James and Ertha Faniel. She was the eldest of three girls and shared her childhood with sisters Debra and Gloria. She married her late husband, service member Keith Shepperson in 1977.
Together they had Kori, Keith Jr., and Stephanie, plus two grandsons Kevin and Adonis. After living in Germany for several years, the family moved to Ft. Huachuca, Arizona. Here Brenda worked at Raymond Bliss Army Medical Center and retired from Civil Service after 20+ years.

After retirement she moved back to New York reconnecting with several people she grew up with, especially her childhood best friend Sharon and her Cousin Debbie. Fifteen years after relocating, and looking for a change, she accepted her eldest daughters offer to move to North Carolina with her.

While there she spent a majority of her time crafting, gardening, traveling, and decorating her home. Every corner of the house has a touch of her personality, which brightens the room. She was known for her long memory, (as she often recounted memories of visiting her Grandparents home during the summer as a child), her great culinary skills (as she made the best cakes, and holiday feasts), her sense of humor (as she loved to laugh & joke), her thoughtful gifts (as she knew just what book, earring, or doll you’d love), and most of all her big heart (as she saw the best in everyone). She was greatly loved and is terribly missed.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 9, 2022, from 12 noon to 2 pm at Sullivan's Highland Funeral Service.
