Gladys Fisher Bullard, 88, of Hope Mills, passed away on Friday, July 1, 2022, at her residence with her family by her side.

Gladys was born on September 15, 1933, in Sampson County to the late Vander Fisher and Maggie Brown Fisher.

Gladys wore many hats throughout her life, she was known as the “Master Biscuit Maker” at the Hardee’s on Cumberland Road. Her passion was caring for others.  She was the happiest when she was being the “Nanny” for many children in the county and caring for the elderly.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, Deda to one, and friend to all who knew her.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, from 2-2:45 p.m. at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 3 p.m. at Cross Creek Cemetery. 

Gladys was preceded in death by her husbands, Claude A. Curry, Sr., and Jessie T. Bullard; son, Claude A. Curry, Jr.; siblings, Haywood Fisher, Oleta Lockamy, Dorothy Waddell, and Janie Barnes.

She is survived by her children, Diane Gunter and husband John of TN; Thomas H. Curry and Gail Curry both of Hope Mills; grandchildren, Robert Gunter, and wife Ruiyi, David Gunter and wife Jessica, Thomas Gunter, James Gunter and wife Julianne and Arielle Curry; great grandchildren, Alex Gunter, China Gunter, Ashlynn Gunter, Jacob Gunter, Damian Gunter, Macey Gunter, Caroline Gunter, Lauren Gunter, Hunter Akers, and Dakota Akers.
