Jacqueline Marie ((Quinton)) Hapney

Mrs. Jacqueline Marie Quinton Hapney, 85, of Fayetteville, NC, died Friday, March 15, 2024, at her residence. 

Jacqueline was born December 22, 1938, in Ernée, France, to the late Urbain Quinton and Marie-Josephine Boursier.

Jacqueline was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Lee “Hap” Hapney.

Jacqueline “Jackie” is survived by her sons, Alan K. Hapney and Michael K. Hapney; her beloved dog Chou Chou; two grandchildren, Nathan (Felicia) and Heather; six great-grandchildren, Emma, Cameron, Corbin, Liam, Logan, and Irene; and sister, Christiane Massaglia (Sera), and bonus kids; Kelley McLawhorn (Suuganya & daughter), Bradley McLawhorn (Lucy & sons), Cindi Mucky Newble, and Shelley Hapney-Deiters; best friends, Letizia Marano, the late Marsha McLawhorn (Jimmy), and the late Inci Joyner and many others.

She was married for over 65 years to Jimmy who she met while he served in France. They had many adventures through the years together! She loved to ride motorcycles, water ski and spend summers with her grandchildren when they were young. She was an avid supporter of animals and especially endangered wildlife.

She was passionate about teaching the French language to the Armed Forces as Branch Chief. She began her career working for The U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School at Fort Liberty, N.C. in 1974 and retired in 1994. Jackie took pride in preparing soldiers for their missions in order to serve their country in many distant areas across the globe. These Soldiers bring integrity, adaptability, and regional expertise to their assignments which Jackie helped influence.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 2:50 p.m. on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home with a memorial service beginning at 3:00 p.m., in the Chapel.
