Stewart Cratus Hemby, Jr., 86 of Angier, NC, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2022.
Stewart was a son of North Carolina, born and raised in Wilmington, March 20, 1936 . He was a US Navy Veteran and a master electrician in construction.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Stewart C. Hemby and Ruth West Hemby; sons, Stewart C. Hemby III, Charles E.L. Hemby, David D. Hemby and daughter, Bunita J. Hemby.
He is survived by his wife of two years, Linda J. Hemby, and sons, Mathew “Bill” Hemby (Cyndi Jo) and Art Hemby (Helen); step-children, Shannon McClements, Matthew McClements, Timothy McClements and Jennifer Kirby (Robert); twenty- five grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 8, 2022 at Kennebec Baptist Church, 9808 Kennebec Church Road, Angier, NC 27501 with Pastor Mark Howard officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery, Fort Bragg, NC officiated by Drs. Heyward and Faye Bynum.
