Giovanni Salvatore Giallongo, 85, passed away on Friday, March 3, 2023, in his home. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Maria A. Giallongo, and his son, Giovanni Salvatore Giallongo Jr.

Luis Alberto Pizarro Jr., 34, of Fayetteville, passed away Monday, March 6, 2023. Luis was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on June 22, 1988, son to Luis Alberto Pizarro Sr. and Selima Baksh.

Bonita Sue Rees, 84, of Fayetteville, passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at her home with her beloved family by her side. Bonita was born Dec. 9, 1938, in Connersville, Ind., to the late Theresa and Gilbert Carpenter.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Rex Richard Rees.

Michael “Mike” John Archambault, 59, passed away suddenly in Winston-Salem, N.C., on March 4, 2023. He was born in Louisville, Ky., and lived in Germany, New Jersey, Wisconsin, Virginia and finally Fayetteville, N.C., where he graduated from Westover High School.

Carole Anne Arsenault, 65, of Woodbridge, Virginia, passed away on March 7, 2023, from complications related to cancer discovered in November 2021. She and her husband, Richard, had been residing temporarily in Fayetteville, N.C., where they could be closer to family and to Duke Cancer Center.

Mrs. Doris A. Briones, 84, of Fayetteville, passed away Monday, March 6, 2023, in her home surrounded by her loved ones. Doris was born in Fayetteville on June 5, 1938, daughter of the late Charlie F. and Ethel Lee Groves.

Mildred Jones Guy, 96, of Fayetteville ,passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2023. Born in Nash County on Nov. 2, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Leroy Jones and Rella Strickland Jones.

David Martin “Papa”  DeKlein passed away on Monday, March 6, 2023. Papa was born at Langley Air Force Base in Hampton, Virginia, on Oct. 14, 1960. He continued a long family tradition of military service and earned multiple Bronze Star awards while on active duty in the Army.
