The history and life stories of Black builders and architects in North Carolina are subjects of a traveling exhibit coming to the Museum of the Cape Fear beginning Sept. 6. The museum, at 801 Arsenal Ave., will host Preservation North Carolina’s traveling exhibit “We Built This: Profiles of Black Architects and Builders in North Carolina.”

Cumberland County tax bills were mailed to property owners on Aug. 11, according to a county news release. The deadline to pay 2023 property taxes is Jan. 5. After that, a 2% interest charge will be assessed the first month and a 0.75% interest charge each month thereafter, beginning Feb. 1, the news release said.
Detectives seek tips on theft of food truck on Cumberland Road
Detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify suspects in the theft of a food truck on Cumberland Road. The truck was stolen about 10 p.m. July 22 from Tropical Caribbean Cuisine, according to a news release from the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.
