Karen Perron

Posted

Karen Perron, 48, of Lillington went home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 8, 2024.

Karen was born to Patrick Carlino and Gina Santonocito on December 16, 1975, in San Jose, CA. Karen is preceded in death by her grandparents on both sides.

Karen leaves many cherished memories to her loving husband of 14 years, Eric Perron; children, Kevin Nardone, Robert Perron, and Aiden Linquist (even though he was not her own, she treated him as such); her granddaughter Abigail; and sister Stacie.

Karen was and is a woman of faith and compassion. She loved everyone and everyone loved Karen. She had the kindest heart of any person in the world. She always was more concerned about everyone else's woes than her own. She was a simple person and enjoyed the small things in life. She was happier pleasing others than pleasing herself. She enjoyed cooking and making sure her family was fed. She worked her butt off because that is what she did. She made sure laundry was done and the house was clean.

When in relaxed mode Karen loved to watch TV. Her favorite shows always involved some type of crime scene, CSI, Law and Order, Criminal Minds, Chicago PD, etc. I think this is linked to her ongoing respect for Law Enforcement and her many years of fitting them in their uniforms while working for Summit Uniforms in San Jose. She was a Patriot and always respected the military. Every 4th of July our house was decorated as such. The National Anthem always made her proud at the many sporting events we watched and attended. She was always proud of Eric being a soldier.

Karen loved the outdoors. At first, she disliked the troubles of tent camping but enjoyed the many places we visited. When we bought a camper she happily decorated it and was as happy as any woman is to buy anything she could on Amazon. She loved camping now because we had all the luxuries of home but away from home in awesome places. She loved to hike and see the beautiful world. When we moved to North Carolina she found her true happiness. Warm weather (she always hated the cold), real people, and a home she always wanted. The beach was her kingdom. Through her struggles with cancer, the beach always brought her happiness. She collected shells and shark teeth and walked further on the beach than most healthy people.

Karen fought until the end. Cooked dinner, cleaned, and did laundry when she barely could. She did this because she cared and had a great heart. Small things would make her smile. I would always crack a joke or two or bring up a memory. She loved to drive around so we would just drive around and go nowhere. We would drive down farm roads and cherish the world we live in. She loved trips to Sam's Club or the grocery store, because she could buy snacks for Robbie. She would feed her two kitties and give them catnip until she was barely able to walk.

I lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations are sent to St. Judes.

There will be a visitation for family and friends on April 29, 2024, at 3:00 pm at Adcock Funeral Home and Crematory in Spring Lake. A Celebration of Life Service will follow visitation at 4:00 pm. There will be a dinner after the service at Liberty Church, 1625 Ray Rd, Spring Lake, NC from 5:45 pm to 7:30 pm.
