Retired CSM Bobby Deal, age 92, passed away on April 1, 2024, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on December 9, 1931, in Angier, NC, to the late Iris C. Deal and James M. Deal.

Bobby served his country with honor, dedicating 30 years of his life to the United States Army, achieving the distinguished rank of E-9. His commitment to service was unwavering, reflecting his deep sense of duty and patriotism.

In addition to his military career, Bobby cherished his family dearly. He was married to his beloved wife, Laverne Deal, and together they shared a life filled with love and laughter. Bobby was preceded in death by his sons, Tony and Doug Deal, his first wife, Allie Young Deal, and his brother, Charles Patterson Deal.

He is survived by his wife, Laverne Lee Deal; loving daughter, Susan Speight, and her husband Joe; grandchildren, Robert Deal, Erin Deal Maierson, Christen Mitchell, Matthew Wyatt Deal, and his wife Samantha; bonus children, Robert Giles and Debbie Giles; 8 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Bobby will be remembered for his passion for fishing, his enjoyment of reading, particularly the newspaper, and his talent for cultivating extra-large tomatoes with his grandson Robert. His vibrant personality, sparkling blue eyes, and wonderful sense of humor endeared him to all who knew him.

A dedicated family man and a true patriot, Bobby Deal leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and laughter that will be cherished by his family and friends forevermore. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

There will be a visitation for family and friends on Friday, April 5, 2024, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Adcock Funeral Home and Crematory, Spring Lake. A service honoring Bobby's life will follow at 2:00 pm with Rev. Lenny Logan officiating. Burial with full military honors will immediately follow the service at LaFayette Memorial Park, Fayetteville. Services entrusted to Adcock Funeral Home and Crematory, Spring Lake.
