Seth Cruz, 13, of Spring Lake, North Carolina passed away on Wednesday February 7th, 2024.

Seth was born to Michael and Kathryn Cruz on May 4, 2010 in Nashville, Tennessee. Seth was preceded in death by 5 great grandparents, Lupe and Beatrice Cruz, Mary Elizabeth and Merle J. Cook, Carolyn Riney and his Papa Kevin Swanson and.

Seth leaves behind many cherished memories with numerous family members and friends that span several states including Tennessee, Illinois, North and South Carolina, Texas, Washington, California and Florida.

Seth loved spending time with his friends and family. Seth and Katie shared a love of art and often painted together. He enjoyed spending one on one time with Katie by taking her on Mother/ Son dates. From a very young age he aspired to follow in his fathers footsteps by enlisting in the United States Army. He was vigorously preparing himself by studying for the ASVAB and challenging his body by participating in ruck marches. He also had a passion for coding and computers. He was an exceptional gamer and enjoyed competing against one of his closest friends, Riley. Most often Seth could be found confiding-in and conspiring with his partner in crime and cousin, Abbey. He always enjoyed his time bonding with Gavin over their love of bowling which would quickly lead to some crazy shenanigans.

Seth had a deep admiration and love for animals, especially his ferret Freja and cat Neko. He also cherished his time four-wheeling with his favorite "Little Bro", Waylon. He had a very diverse taste in music that ranged from Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby to Eminem, but Mariah Carey's Christmas hit "All I want for Christmas Is You" and "Only You (And You Alone)" by The Platters were his all time favorite tunes.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that a donation be made in honor of Seth to Our Wild Neighbors sanctuary at http://www.ourwildneighbors.org/donate or donations to the family can be made at https://gofund.me/9e746774

There will be a Celebration of Life service honoring Seth on Saturday February 17th, 2024 at 1pm at the VFW Post 4542, 1241 Pine Knoll Road, Spring Lake. Seth was never one to dress up because he always preferred to stay in his comfy pajama pants, especially if they were Christmas-themed. The family asks that everyone dress in their favorite  pajamas pants or comfy clothes to truly honor Seth's character.

Seth is survived by his Parents, Katie and Michael Cruz. Great Grandpa Michael “Mickey” Riney. Grandparents Cynthia Swanson, Jayce and Ted Welton.
