Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department are investigating a sexual assault that was reported early Sunday on Shaw Road. Officers responded to the call on the 1400 block of Shaw Road around 1:45 a.m. The preliminary investigation indicates the victim was randomly identified and assaulted by a man who forced his way into her home, police said in a release. 

Now the mayor and some City Council members want to be in the entertainment business. That’s just what Mayor Mitch Colvin, Shakeyla Ingram, Larry Wright and Courtney Banks-McLaughlin were saying Monday night at a council work session.
