The ninth annual Firecracker 4 Miler is scheduled for July 4. The four-mile run/walk will start at the North Carolina Veterans Park, 300 Bragg Blvd., at 7 a.m. and wind through downtown Fayetteville.

The Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra presents the Independence Concert and Fireworks on July 4. The event will be hosted at Festival Park, 335 Ray Ave.,  and is free. The show will start at 8 p.m.

Fort Bragg will host its annual July 4th Celebration on Monday, July 4, from  3 to 10 p.m. at the Fort Bragg Parade Field, 25 Capron St.

Fayetteville Motor Speedway, 3035 Whitman Road, presents the Blue Ridge Outlaw Late Model Race on July 9.  Pit gates open at 3 p.m., and the grandstands open at 4 p.m.

Cape Fear Regional Theatre will present "The Princess Prob-Llama" on July 2, July 30 and Aug. 13 at 2 and 4 p.m. each day. Tickets are $15. This musical was specifically written for Cape Fear Regional Theatre. The theater is at 1209 Hay St.

The Fayetteville Dogwood Festival is continuing the tradition with the 24th Annual Miss Fayetteville Dogwood Festival Pageant on Sept. 17. There will be two interest meetings for contestants. The first will July 31, and the second is Aug. 21.

The Dirtbag Ales Farmers Market will host its Night Market the last Wednesday of every month at Dirtbag Ales Brewery and Taproom, 5435 Corporation Drive, from 6 to 9 p.m. There will be live music, local vendors, food trucks and craft brews.

Rod Wave & Friends Live in Concert is scheduled for Saturday, June 25, at the Crown Coliseum, 1960 Coliseum Drive. The lineup will include Boosie, Renni Rucci and Lil Poppa. Tickets are $49 to $250.

The Greater Fayetteville Chamber will host a city of Fayetteville general election forum on June 30 from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Crown Coliseum,  1960 Coliseum Drive. This event is free and open to the public. Doors open at 7:30 a.m. Candidates for mayor and City Council are scheduled to answer questions.  

The 2022 Cumberland County Master Gardener Volunteer Association Spring Gardening Symposium is scheduled for June 25 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Cape Fear Botanical Garden, 536 N. Eastern Blvd.
